Virginia Beach – Ronald C. Barnes, Sr., 69, passed away on February 17, 2012. He was born on February 3, 1943 in Norfolk, the son of the late George and Lucy Barnes. Ronald served his country in the United States Army. He was later employed by VFL as a mechanic. Ronald enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, watching the sunrise every morning at Rudy Inlet and was master of the remote control.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 47 years, Betty Barnes; two sons, Ronald C. Barnes, Jr., and wife Debi; Christopher L. Barnes and wife Jennifer; daughter, Carol L. Wahlberg and husband Bryan; grandson, Master Jeffery Latham, Jr., brother, H. Vernon Barnes and wife Sandy and sister Ray Ellen Person and husband Joe and numerous other loving friends and relatives.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012 from 7:00 – 9:00 PM in Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home in Virginia Beach. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012 at 11:00 AM in Rosewood Memorial Park in Virginia Beach.
