Ryan Lee Beard

Ryan is survived by his loving wife, Sarah; his two beautiful children, Benjamin, 3 and Riley, 7mos; his parents: Mary Munford of New Albany, Indiana and Randall Beard of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and his brother, Matthew Beard of Charlottesville, Virginia.

Ryan was diagnosed with Colon Cancer in 2013 and maintained a positive attitude in the face of an ugly diagnosis.

Ryan was born on October 15, 1978 in Great Lakes, Illinois. He graduated from Salem High School of Virginia Beach in 1998. He began working for WVEC Channel 13 News right out of high school as a videographer. Ryan became an expert in several specialties at the Newsroom. He met his wife, Sarah, at WVEC and together they created a great support group of loving friends.

The couple married on October 3, 2009 and welcomed their son Benjamin on April 3, 2012. Their daughter, Riley was born November 3, 2014. Ryan was a devoted father and had a warm and generous soul, he was dedicated to his family and passionate about creating a loving environment for all of those he encountered.

Memorial service to be held at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home and Memorial Park on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 2 pm. A reception will follow at 5 pm at Oceanaire Resort 3421 Atlantic Ave, Virginia Beach, VA 23451. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ryan's life.
