Scott Elliott Burdett, 57, passed away in Norfolk on Monday. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Kathy Burdett; son, Alex Burdett both of Virginia Beach and sister, Carol Hathaway and her husband, Dan of Atascadero, CA. He is predeceased by his parents Hubert W. and Joyce Hughes Burdett. When Scott wasn’t spending time with his family, his passion was surfing. An avid fan, he would often participate in the local surf competitions in Virginia Beach.
A memorial service will be held at the First Street Jetty at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at 5pm. In honor of Scott and his passion for surfing, there will be a Paddleout event immediately following the memorial service.
