Virginia Beach - Soliman Aguinaldo Lagoc, Sr., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 4, 2015, after a courageous battle with Mesothelioma cancer. He was born on June 10, 1944 and raised on the family farm in Ilocos Norte, Philippines. Soliman joined the U.S. Navy and was eventually stationed in Norfolk, VA. In 1968. He met and married the love of his life, Generosa Pascual, with whom he would have celebrated 46 years of marriage on April 28th. After serving in the Navy for 26 years, he retired as MSC in 1991 and went on to work for Marva Maid Dairy, where he proudly drove an 18 wheeler and supplied the Naval community for 21 years.
In addition to his loving wife Rose, he leaves behind to cherish his memory his sons Soliman A. Jr. (Pamela), Mark A. (Elaine), James A. (Amy); Grandchildren: Soliman, Nina, Rowan, Olivia, and a grandchild due around his birthday in June; brothers and sisters in the Philippines; and many close friends in the Hampton Roads area.
Soliman had a servant's heart, helping feed the homeless with the Knights of Columbus, serving at various church events and being someone that others could count on to help whenever and wherever he was needed. He especially loved to dance with his wife, and enjoyed all of the Filipino functions held in the area. Now Dad is enjoying Paradise in his favorite Hawaiian shirt!
