Virginia Lee Craven (Cubilla), better known as Ginny, was called home January 23, 2025, at the age of 81. Born January 11, 1944, in Easton, Pennsylvania, Ginny spent most of her life in Norfolk, Virginia, before spending her final months near Louisville, Kentucky.
Ginny lived a life of integrity, compassion, and love. Her faith was her guiding light, and her family and friends were her greatest treasures. She lived a simple life, always remembering and celebrating the special days of those she loved. Ginny made a lasting impact on everyone she met, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and heartfelt connections. She was known for her meticulous administrative work mostly at construction companies, a career she approached with diligence and care. She loved music, sharing stories, and making memories.
Ginny is predeceased by her father, Joseph Cubilla; her mother, Virginia Lee Cubilla (Smith); her sister, Helen “Tootsie” Kidwell (Cubilla); her son, William “Billy” Craven; and other beloved family members. She is survived by her loving companion and best friend, Edward Proulx; her devoted daughter, Angela Weaver (Craven); her caring son-in-law, Charles “Chuck” Weaver; her cherished grandchildren, Alyssa Christy (Weaver) and husband Jon, and Charles William Weaver. Ginny also leaves behind many other beloved family and friends who she loved like family.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Norfolk, Virginia, on Thursday, February 6, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Ginny’s generous spirit would be honored by contributions to a charity of your choice.
Ginny will be deeply missed, but her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now experiencing eternal joy and peace with the Lord.
