William F. Carver, 84, formerly of the Berkley section of Norfolk and later Atlanta, Georgia, passed away quietly in his home on May 12, 2021 in Virginia Beach. He was the son of the late Roy and Hazel Carver.
A native of Norfolk, VA, Bill graduated from Maury H.S. and The College of William and Mary. He served as a U.S. Naval Officer assigned to Air Intelligence and went on to a successful 32-year career with Baxter International as a Medical Sales Representative in their mission to save and sustain lives. During his career and following retirement, Bill and his wife, Irene, traveled the world and visited sights on every continent except Antarctica. Whether he was on a cruise ship 1,000 miles up the Amazon River or enjoying a family cookout in the backyard, he was always quick with a smile and a joke and lit up every room he entered.
Bill is survived by Irene, his loving wife of 62 years; brother, Steven T. Carver and his wife, Magda of Egg Harbor Township, NJ; Bill and Irene’s children, daughter, Elizabeth Morben and her husband Darrel of Virginia Beach; son, William F. Carver Jr. and his wife, Shelia of Chesapeake, and son, Charles A. Carver and his wife, Maud of Richmond; five grandchildren, Christine Kellas, Jennifer Stanley, Ryan Carver, Corwyn Carver, and Clay Carver and three great-grandchildren, Brynn, Lillian, and Blaire.
The family will receive friends for a viewing at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home at 601 N. Witchduck Rd. in VA Beach from 10-11am on Sunday, May 16, 2021.
