William J. "Skeeter" Childress

William J. Childress age 82, also known as "Skeeter", of Norfolk, VA, peacefully passed into his heavenly fathers arms on May 31, 2016, surrounded by his loving family, in Hertford, North Carolina. William was born to William and Mary Childress, on July 12, 1933.

He was drafted into the Korean War and served as a Medic, and was honorably discharged with a metal of expert. He retired from the ILA, Local 1970, at age 62.

He survived by his wife of 60 years Jessie M. Childres; daughters Deborah C. Pfennig and her husband Frederick; and Amie C. Guill and her husband Jeffry; brother Charles T. Childress; and four grandchildren Krista M. Lucas, Colten A. Childress, Mariah F. Guill and Luke J. Guill.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 3, 2016 at 1pm at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Rd., Virginia Beach VA 23462.
