 Obituario de William Flenn Currie
William Flenn Currie, known as Bill, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2024, in Franktown, Virginia. He was born on August 15, 1935, in Alamo, Georgia, to Luther Lafayette and Essie Mae Hagan Currie. Bill served as an infantry paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division in the U.S. Army, worked as a policeman with the Princess Anne County Police Department, later merged with the Virginia Beach Police Department, United States Marshall, and later retired as a Special Agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF). After retiring from the ATF, Bill, and his wife Marlene Shaddeau Currie, whom he was married to for 67 years, relocated to Eastern Shore, where he pursued his passion for fishing, crabbing, and harvesting oysters as a waterman. He also started his own lawn mowing business, servicing the local community in and around Northampton County. Bill is survived by his wife Marlene, as well as two children: daughter Marshalene Currie Orr and her husband Jim Orr from Virginia Beach, son Ethan Glenn Currie, and wife Andrea and their son Dylan from Poquoson, Virginia; and his brother Sam Currie from South Carolina; and a host of extended family and many caring friends and colleagues. Preceding him in death were his parents Luther and Essie Mae Currie, his sister Anne, and brother Wayne. A visitation for Bill will be held Friday, May 17, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N Witchduck Rd, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462. A graveside service will occur Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Rosewood Memorial Park, 631 North Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462.
