William “Buddy” Goodwin, 63, went to be with the Lord on December 14, 2012. He was born on August 8, 1949 in Virginia Beach, Virginia, the son of the late William and Stella Goodwin. Although he was born with Cerebral Palsy Buddy was very independent. He worked for over five years for the City of Virginia Beach and took pride in the jobs that were assigned to him. Buddy was loved by everyone who met him. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Laura Brown, Marjorie Bennett, Shelby Mahoney and Page Latrace.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved sisters, Lona Martin, Mary Johnson, Lola Sampley, Stella Smith and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 17, 2012 from 7:00 – 8:30 PM in Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Road in Virginia Beach. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home officiated by Pastor Ronald Lee. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park.
The family wishes to express sincere thanks to the staff at River Point, especially to the care givers on Homer Hall for their excellent care, loving kindness and all their prayers for Buddy and his sisters.
