

Born in Providence, he was the son of David F. Walsh and Mary McLean Walsh.
Donald was born and raised in Providence, RI until his retirement in 1995 when he moved to Exeter, RI. He served in the U.S. Navy for 6 years during the Korean War Era. He served on the Providence Fire Department for 22 years before joining the state fire marshal’s office.
He was predeceased by his wife Joan Lyons Walsh, and his son David F. Walsh. He was the father of Ellen Walsh Breagy, Judith Walsh Bonin, and Timothy P. Walsh. He leaves a sister, Claire Doorley, and his seven grandchildren, Siobahan Breagy Quadrozzi, Conor Breagy, Derek Bonin, Katie, David, Liam, and Elizabeth Walsh as well as his great-grandson Myles Quadrozzi.
His funeral will be held on Monday, March 7 at 8:30 am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road (Rte. 117) Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Pius V Church, 240 Eaton Street, Providence. Burial, with military honors will follow in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, March 6 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm
