Louis G. Najac Jr., “Louie”, 87, of West Warwick, passed away January 5, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Frances B. (Lutynski) Najac, to whom he was happily married for 62 years.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Louis G. Najac Sr. and Emma (Kessler) Najac.
Louie was employed by The Providence Journal for 41 years and also worked at Lincoln Downs/Lincoln Park for over 30 years. He was a member of the Providence Newspaper Guild and a member of the Service Employees Union, Local 40.
Louie’s family was his life. He was a devoted husband who referred to his Frannie as ‘the best part of me’. As a father, there was none better, and as a grandfather he was extraordinary. The lives of many were touched and shaped by his selflessness, generosity and kind-heartedness. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was the loving father of Christine H. Najac, Amy-Beth DiPaolo (Robert), Stacie A. Grady (Shawn) and cherished grandfather of Catherine-Emma DiPaolo and Michael R.G. DiPaolo. He was predeceased by his brother, Munson G. Najac.
His visitation will be held Monday, January 13, 2025 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Rd, Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Rd, Warwick. Burial is respectfully private.
