Alberta "Birdie" Popma

Alberta J. "Birdie" Popma age 63 of Bradley Settlement, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, September 23, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Sarah Sprague, her siblings Linda Rose Shomin, Randall L. Sprague and Joseph Sprague. She is survived by her children Amy (Steven) Loonsfoot, Al Popma, Andrea (Cory) Heiss, Dean (Sheila) Popma and Dena (Chris) Barton; grandchildren Anthony, Joseph, Hunter, Lilly, Austin, Avory and Jessica. Also surviving are her siblings George Sprague, Lewis (Connie) Sprague, Matthew Sprague, Henry (Sue) Sprague, Timothy Sprague, JoAnne (Tyne) Peters, Marian (Andy) Falcon; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Birdie enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and golfing. She was a proud member of the Gun Lake Tribe and Bradley Indian Mission Church, she served on the Elders Committee for the tribe and enjoyed going on many of their trips. The funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday at Cross Wind Community Church 1683 142nd Ave, Dorr with Pastor Sandra VandenBrink officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends Friday from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home Dorr Chapel, 4330 18th Street, Dorr.
