

David Lee Richards, age 61, of Yankee Springs, passed away April 11, 2013. He is survived by his wife Karen Richards; his son Charles Richards and his daughters Rhonda and Wendy; grandchildren: Caitlin, Zach, Nathan and Phoenix "Nikki"; his mother Joyce Wogaman; his brothers and sisters: Mark (Marjie) Barnhart, John (Melanie) Richards, Larry Richards, Jim (Sally) Richards, Mary (Scott) Dunn, and Deb Richards; and many nieces and nephews. Dave was preceded in death by his father, John Richards. Dave was a mechanic and was well known in the area for his work at Wayland Standard, Sevigny Automotive, as a Mac Tool Salesman and at Joe's LP Auto Value. He was a life member of the Wayland VFW, for his service in the U.S. Army. On May 18th, he would have celebrated 30 wonderful years with his wife Karen. Dave enjoyed his time spent with his neighbors at Cobb Lake and was the captain of many hours spent on his pontoon with Karen. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and watched NASCAR races. Dave was known as the go to guy, because of his heart of gold. A funeral service will be Saturday, April 13, 2013, at 11 A.M. at the Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home, 312 N. Main St. Wayland, MI, with the Reverend Andrew Jackson officiating. Family will greet friends and relatives 10-11A.M. before the service on Saturday. Contributions may be made to the Wayland VFW.
