

Eugene B. Fenton "Gene", age 81 of Wayland, passed away under hospice care, at home on his beloved farm. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elwood and Clara (Finkbeiner) Fenton, his twin brother Charles Fenton and his sister Anne Louise Fenton. Gene will be lovingly remember by his brother Jack (Pat) Fenton; his sister-in-law Ruth Fenton; and nieces and nephews: Tammy (Russ) Quick, Debbie (Keith) Thayer, Mary (Jerry) Bronkhorst, Susan (Kevin) DeKoekkoek, Jack (Shauna) Fenton II, Jeff Fenton, Charles (Cathy) Fenton, Luann Fenton, Candy (Matt) Gehl, and Jessica (Eric) Mohn. Gene was a lifelong dairy farmer. He graduated in 1951 from Wayland High School and was a member of the Yankee Springs Bible Church. Gene loved to fish and spend time with his family. He was a quiet and gentle man with a generous heart. A time for relatives and friends to visit with Gene's family will be held 10 AM-12 PM Wednesday, July 16, at Yankee Springs Bible Church, where his funeral service will be held at 12 PM, with Pastor Merritt Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Germond Cemetery. In honor of Gene, contributions may be made to the Yankee Springs Bible Church or the Forgotten Man Ministries.
