Gwendolyn Standish Metz, age 88 of Shelbyville, MI, went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, April 13, 2023. Her husband, John Raymond Metz and granddaughter, Audra Sue Landon preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters Margie Ellen Metz, Susan (Ed) Landon, Terri (Bob) Colburn; seven grandchildren Jeannie (Bob) Hammer, Cassandra (OJ) Krcma, Melissa (Lenny) Gajeski, Eddy (Andrea) Landon, Racheal (Jason) Clark, Rob Colburn, Ray (Sondra) Colburn; many great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sister-in-law, Ruthie Cronen; and her faithful dog, Molly.
Gwen graduated from Wayland High School. She married John Metz in 1953. She was a farmer’s wife, and ran the farm and the household until they retired to their home on Gun Lake.
A celebration of life service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2023 at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home, 312 N. Main St. Wayland. The family will receive relatives and friends from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G.
