Jacqueline "Jackie" Straub

Jacqueline Jean Straub "Jackie", age 66, of Wayland, went home to be with her Lord, Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Faith Hospice Trillium Woods. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Helen Bilski. Jackie will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Elmer and Amanda Straub and their bulldog, Russell, Tony Straub and his sons, Andrew and Nathan Straub; her siblings, Betty (Bob) Meconis, John (Mary) Bilski, Bobby Bilski; and her many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Jackie worked for 28 years as an Emergency Dispatcher for the Michigan State Police Post in Wayland. She also worked for Emergency Medical Services and the Allegan County Criminal Court. Jackie was very involved in helping her community as executive director of the Wayland Chamber of Commerce and Wayland Kiwanis, where she served as President. She also loved working with Education Foundation and Key Club. A time for relatives and friends to visit with Jackie's family will be held from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 9 PM Friday, August 2, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services in Wayland, 312 N. Main St. Funeral Mass will be 11 AM Saturday at St. Therese Catholic Church, 128 Cedar St. with Fr. Christian Johnston presiding. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Therese Catholic School and Wayland Area Ambulance Services.
