

Jerry Deemter, age 62 of Shelbyville, peacefully passed away into the arms of Jesus on August 19, 2016 at Faith Hospice Trillium Woods as a result of injuries sustained in a recent accident. He was preceded in death by his father Gerald Deemter, his parents-in-law Anthony and Jean Langerak and his niece Monica Wesslund. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, of 37 years, Toni Lynn; their children Jennifer (Timothy) VanWyhe and Timothy (Renee) Deemter; his grandchildren: Grace, Jonathan, and Julie VanWyhe and Logan, Dylan, and Levi Deemter; his mother Marilyn Deemter; his brother and sisters: Cheryl (Roger) Gunnink, Mark (Kathryn) Deemter, and Sandy(Jack) Hartman; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Harry (Evelyn) Langerak, Don (Judy) Langerak, Ed (Lois) Langerak, Jim (Bev) Langerak, Susan (Larry) French, Carol (Gary) Steensma, Henry (Terri) Langerak, and Mike (Rose) Langerak; Friend and business partner Gord (Anne) VanSingel; and many nieces and nephews.
Jerry will be lovingly remembered for his honesty, commitment to biblical fairness and truth in all endeavors. He selflessly gave to and served those in need. He was continuously using his mind and body to solve problems, fix (Jerry rig), or build things.

Member of Dorr Christian Reformed Church 1985-present; Elder, Sound Technician & Computer Specialist. Moline Christian School; Board Member 1994-1998. Selkirk Lake Association; Vice President 2015-Present. Member of multiple golf and bowling leagues.
Friends may visit with his family on Monday, August 22, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-9 PM at the Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services, Dorr Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11 AM on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Dorr Christian Reformed Church, with Pastor Duane Nieuwsma officiating. A private interment will be held at Winchester Cemetery. Donations in memory of Jerry may be made to Dorr Christian Reformed Church; Audio Visual Fund or Faith Hospice Trillium Woods.
