Michael Edmund Spencer

On Friday April 8, 2022, Michael (Mike) E. Spencer went to be with his Lord and Savior. He is preceded in death by his father, Gerald Spencer and mother-in-law, Dori King. He will be lovingly missed by his wife of nine years, Erica; and son, Michael. He will also be remembered by his mother, Merrie (Steve) Dewilde; siblings Todd (Ashley) Rich, Amber (Scott) Hunter, Jake (Lauren) Montney, Angela Spencer Smith; many nephews, nieces, aunts, and uncles.

Mike was a strong, loving man who always made his wife and son a priority. Their life was filled with donut dates and trips to their favorite restaurants. He knew the best way to make them feel cherished - finding time to surprise his wife with a card even in his darkest moments. Inspired by his favorite Tool lyrics: “This body holding me reminds me of my own mortality. Embrace this moment, remember we are eternal, all this pain is an illusion." He remained strong with adoration for his family and his beautiful relationship with Jesus. With his love of trains, we picture him conducting a steam locomotive on his final journey to heaven.

A visitation for Mike will be held from 6-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home, 312 N Main St., Wayland, MI 49348, with a Rosary from 8-8:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will occur 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2022 with an hour visitation prior at St. Therese Catholic Church, 128 Cedar St., Wayland, MI 49348.
