Patricia Ann Akers

Patricia A. Akers, age 87, of Martin, formerly of Shelbyville, went to be with her Lord, Saturday, May 27, 2017.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Akers; parents, Joseph and Helen Adamczyk; and her siblings, Margaret Adamczyk, Justine Northrop, and Arnold Adamczyk. 

Patricia will be lovingly remembered by her children, James and Sylvia Akers, John and Donella Akers, Jerry and Annette Akers, Jeff Akers, Sue Langley, Mary and Vern Schwarz, Bob Akers, Bill Akers; her 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Dorothy Mull, Dick Adamczyk; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Stanford Lodge, Bronson LakeView Hospital, Ely Manor, and Southern Care Hospice for their compassionate care of Patricia.  

Patricia loved being a homemaker and spending time with her family.  She enjoyed canning, gardening, baking, and playing the organ. 

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6:30 PM, with a rosary at 6:30 PM Tuesday at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services in Wayland, 312 N. Main St.  Funeral Mass will be held 11 AM Wednesday, May 31, at St. Therese Catholic Church.  Father Alphonse Savarimuthu will officiate.  Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery.  In honor of Patricia, contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.  The family welcomes memories and messages in their guestbook online at www.kubiakcook.com.
