Sharon R. Near

Sharon Rose Near, age 63 of Shelbyville, passed away at home under hospice care January 4, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents Allen and Leona (Theodore) Sprague and infant sisters Patty and Judy Sprague. Sharon will be lovingly remembered by her husband George Near; her children: Rebecca (Don) Baker and Billy Weber; her grandchildren: Dominik, Haven, and Donavin Baker; her brothers and sister: Gordon Sprague, Clarence Sprague, Dale Sprague, Laurie Sprague-Hinmon, Phillip Sprague; and many nieces and nephews. Sharon was a proud member of the Gun Lake Tribe and was active with the Elders and Diabetic Programs. She was a lifetime member of the Bradley Indian Mission Church. Friends may visit with Sharon's family Thursday, January 7, 2016 from 5-8 PM at the Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services, Wayland. Funeral Services will be Friday at 12:00 PM at the Luella Collins Community Center, 419 126th Avenue, Shelbyville, with Pastor Nancy Boelens. Interment will follow at Bradley Indian Mission Cemetery.
