Susan Rae Logan, 64, went to our Savior following a very brief illness on Saturday, July 27, 2013. Sue was born to Harold and Vivian Logan in Elwood, Indiana. Her father died when she was 13 and she moved with her family to Wayland, Michigan and became the daughter of Richard W. Overmire who preceded her in death just last month. Sue's extended family was the joy of her life. Having not been blessed with children of her own, her brother Randy's children became like her own. She was present for every birthday, sporting event, holiday, graduation, and school event of their childhood. She loved to garden, camp, swim, shop, sing in the community and church choir, bake for her family, and play games. Many knew of her generosity in providing the "chuck wagon" for the 4-H Club during Fair week for 20 years. She is survived by her long-time partner and best friend, Wade Greenawalt, siblings: Richard (Dianna) Overmire, Kathy (Finley) Hansford, and Randall (Sherry) Overmire. Several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a pre-teen brother, Michael Logan. The family will receive friends and family on Tuesday, July 30th from 6 PM to 8 PM at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home, 312 N. Main St. The funeral service will be held at the Wayland United Methodist Church, 200 Church St. on Wednesday, July 31st at 11 AM with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. It is suggested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be directed to the Barry County 4-H program (MSUE) or Metro Health Foundation.
