

Rest in peace and hurt no more. Alfred T. Martinez crossed over andnow rest in his father's arms on Thursday, February 18, 2016. Born onJanuary 30, 1932 to Amado and Jacinta Martinez. Graduated from Milby in 1952, in which he participated in track, boxing and of course,playing trumpet in the band, thanks to his big sister, who bought himhis first, when he was a small boy. He started playing in bands,traveling when he was fifteen years old.
Immediately after graduating, he enlisted in the United States Navy,in which he continued to play his trumpet. On his first leave, he camehome in July and married the love of his life, Marlene. On January 16,1956, they welcomed their first and only son, Ronnie, and was laterjoined by their only daughter, Cindi. They shared unconditional love,everyday of their lives.
Al, Little Beaver, brother, dad, uncle,grandpa, cousin, GG-Pa loved his family more than anything in theworld. Obstacles were never an issue for Al. The saying, "Never putoff tomorrow, what you can do today," is how he lived everyday of hislife.
Al is survived by his wonderful loving wife, Norma Marlene;his children, Ronnie (Delores), and Cindi (A.C.); Sister, Violet; grandchildren, Summer(Larry), Michael, Andrew(Amanda), and Richard; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Alyssa, Jordan, Riley, Audrey, Kaman, andDestiny; nieces, Tracey and Marlene; nephews, Tommy, Randy, and Robert; many step-grandchildren; and many step-great-grandchildren,nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, whom he love all with all ofhis Huge Heart.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 22, 2016 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home. The Celebration of Alfred's Life will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home with interment to immediately follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.
