She is survived by her two daughters, Vi Truong and Lien Kingston; her two sons, Nhan Truong and Nghia Truong; her sister, Hue Vo; and her two brothers, Quan Vo and Khanh Vo. Ann Mary was born on July 1, 1935 in Buu Long Vietnam to Hien Vo and Van Bui. She moved to Paris, France in 1949, where she attended pharmacy school. During this time,she met her husband Tri Truong and they were married in 1958. She completed her pharmacy school in Saigon, Vietnam where she eventually owned and directed her own pharmaceutical company.
In 1975, she started a new life in Galveston, Texas with her husband and her children. She received her degree in Nursing while working multiple jobs to help support her family. She worked at the UTMB Galveston Neurological Intensive Care Unit until she moved to Kansas in 1982. She started a new job at the Larned Psychiatric Hospital and retired in 1993. Ann Mary loved to spend time with her family and friends and was an avid knitter and Majhong player.
Visitation and Prayer Service for friends and the public will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018 from 11:30 A.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598.
Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 24 at 11:00 A.M. at the Vietnamese Martyr Church, 10610 Kingspoint Road, Houston, Texas 77075. Interment to follow at Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598. The family has requested no donations.
