Basilio Valdez, Sr. 80, passed away December 4, 2012. Valdez, born on June 14, 1932 in Hidalgo, Texas and is a long-time resident of South Houston. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Elodia and his four devoted sons, Basilio Jr., Richard, Alfred and Gilbert and their wives. Valdez spent his childhood and early adult life in the Rio Grande Valley area of Texas and relocated to the Houston area in 1957. He is a long-time parishioner of St. Francis Cabrini Church of Houston. He leaves behind 11 grandchildren, Jessica, Rebecca, Melissa, Christine, Sandra, Angela, Daniel, Christopher, Amanda, Alicia, and Jacob as well as 6 great grandchildren. Pierce, Marisa, Evan, Maria, Isabel and Stone. Viewing well be held at St. Francis Cabrini Church, 10727 Hartsook, 77034 in Houston 7:30 p.m on Thursday, December 6 and funeral services will also be held at St. Francis on Friday, December 7 at noon with interment to follow at Forest Park East, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas, 77598.
