He is preceded in death by his father Lee Highfill; mother Jewel Highfill and brother Bill Highfill.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Polly Highfill of Pearland TX; brother Don Highfill and his wife Peggy of Bridgeport TX; daughter Vickie Cathey of Deer Park TX; sons Carl and his wife Debbie of Cove TX, Mike and his wife Teri of Pasadena TX; grandchildren Brent Cathey and his fiancé Nancy of Bryan TX, Chris Highfill and his wife Katrina of Deer Park TX, Tiffany Bitter and husband Lance of Needville TX, Ryan Highfill and his wife Ashley of Deer Park TX, Katie Highfill of Cove TX, Chase Cathey and his wife Megan of Deer Park TX, Ashley Breeding and her husband Clayton of League City TX, Chance Brown Of Webster, TX; great grandchildren Paige, Kayleigh, Maddie, Addison, Emerson, Kyler, Preston, Cora Lynn, Harper; along with numerous nieces and nephews and dear friends.
Chet was a long time member of the Houston Rodeo. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting, playing scratch offs and their End of Road Ranch. Chet started his career in the ladies shoe business with the Whol Shoe Company and retired in 1971. Following his first retirement, Chet went into the Air Conditioning field where he eventually started Air-Care Southeast and lead it to a successful business which is still going strong after 47 years, Chet retired in 2019.
Chet will always be with us, because love never dies, but lives in those who remember.
