

Cap’t Chris, as he was affectionately known by many, was born October 16, 1941 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He proudly served his country by serving in the United States Air Force from February 1959 through October 1962. He worked 38 years and 4 months for the Federal Aviation Administration in multiple cities with a career that took him all over the world. His dedication to quality and doing the job right allowed him to continually be promoted working his way up to a highly respected career as an Air Worthiness Inspector before retiring from the FAA in 2003.
Among many talents, Cap’t Chris had learned to be an accomplished and very skilled pilot, sailor and yacht captain. He loved boating and captaining his yacht with his wife as his co-captain - they often hosted gatherings with friends and family on their yacht. He loved great music, great food and cherished lively times with friends and family. Always respected for doing things the right way, those that knew him best strived to do things the way Cap’t Chris would have expected.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Barbara Ladewig Clark of the home. His daughter, Christina Buchanan, her husband Dann and their daughter, Shaianne, of Aurora, Colorado. His sister, Patricia Foster and her husband, Brian, of Kirkland, Washington. His stepchildren, Roger Johnson of Collinsville, Texas; Mark Johnson of Moore, Oklahoma; Susie Reid of Mustang, Oklahoma and their families.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mary and Herman Clark.
Family will receive guests Saturday, October 13 from 2:30-3:00PM in the Chapel of Forest Park East Funeral Home located at 21620 Gulf Freeway Webster, Texas. A memorial Life Celebration will begin at 3:00, afterwards guests are invited to a reception in the Reflections Room. There will be a private family inurnment at a later date.
