

Daniel Craig Mitchell, Sr., 70 years old, of Tomball, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Danny, as he preferred to be called, was born in Durham, North Carolina, on January 3, 1955, to Robert Woody Mitchell and Nancy Lee McMichael.
Danny entered the construction field at the young age of 15, learning the Utility Contractor Industry from the ground up and eventually co-founding Huff & Mitchell, Inc. (HMI). He was hardworking and dedicated to HMI and was well-known for his knowledge and expertise in the industry. Danny was a member of the Houston Contractors Association and had a passion for expensive hobbies, including drag racing Mustangs, exotic hunting trips, flying helicopters, collecting a variety of guns, and playing the trumpet. He was extremely good at playing the trumpet and could have been a professional trumpet player.
Daniel Craig Mitchell Sr. was preceded in death by his father, Robert Woody Mitchell, and his mother, Nancy Lee McMichael.
He is survived by his brother, Robert Woody Mitchell; his son, Daniel Craig Mitchell Jr., and his wife, Treasa Alieen Mitchell; his daughter, Nancy Craig Mitchell; his stepdaughter, Sarah Jean Rowlands, and her husband, Jared Wayne Rowlands; and grandchildren: Casey Allen Riley, Daniel-Craig Dawson Mitchell, Brodie Aiden Mitchell, Cadence Jayne Rowlands, and Richard Ryland Rowlands.
Anyone who met Danny could not forget his infectious personality. If you were blessed to hear any of the stories Danny told, just thinking about these stories would make you laugh today.
A visitation will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598, on September 27, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. The funeral service to celebrate the life Danny Mitchell of will follow at the same location from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
