

David Merton Jessel went to his heavenly home on November 6, 2022. Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at League City United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Phillips Sr. and Rev. Peter Cammarano officiating.
David was born on September 13, 1945, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to Merton Lewis Jessel and Ella May Gibson Jessel. He graduated from Hirschi High School in Wichita Falls, Texas in 1963 and attended college at Midwestern State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree. He was also a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. David later received a Masters degree and started his PhD at the University of Houston. While he was working on his doctorate thesis, he decided to pursue a job in computers.
David worked in the oil & gas industry programming flow computers for oil and gas pipelines. He started Jessel Technologies Inc. in the early 1990’s and developed his own flow system
software implemented worldwide. His job took him around the world all over the United States of America, North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
David was passionate about his children’s sports including soccer and tennis. He coached soccer
for both boys and girls teams in Friendswood Soccer League and founded the Wildfire Select
Soccer League for girls in the southeast Houston area. He traveled to soccer and tennis
tournaments all over the state of Texas and nationwide.
David married Laverne Gwen Mewis on August 3, 1974, and had three children, Heather Anne, Chad David, and Brock Lewis. They were married for 24 years. Later in life, he met Zulai Aidakeeva in Dubai, and they were married on April 4, 2006. They were married for 16 years
and had two children, Erica May, and Lauren Isabella.
Survivors include his wife Zulai Aidakeeva Jessel of Friendswood, Texas; children Heather Jessel Carlquist and husband Chad of Allen, Texas, Chad Jessel and girlfriend Sarah Copeland of Webster, Texas, Brock Jessel and wife Rochelle of Katy, Texas, Erica and Lauren Jessel of Friendswood, Texas; grandchildren Dylan and Ashley Carlquist and Stone, Aiden, and Grant Jessel; stepmother Bobbie Jessel of Wichita Falls, Texas. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, three sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law.
A Memorial Service will be held on November 22, 2022 at 10:00 am, at League City United Methodist Church, 1601 W League City Pkwy, League City, TX 77573 (281) 332-1557
