It would take volumes to describe what all she loved and experienced in her lifetime. Nothing brought her more joy than helping someone in need, and no one ever left her home hungry. Her work ethic was to be admired. She worked for Clear Creek School District in the Cafeteria System as Manager and went on to retire as District Supervisor, earning a Paraprofessional Certificate in the process. She was a woman of strong faith, loved Jesus and her family, and found joy in cooking, fishing, crabbing, camping, and watching children have fun.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Mr. Cecil McCoy Keech; brothers Marvin Hudson and John Thomas Hudson of Sumter, South Carolina; sisters Mae Rodgers, Ruby White, Ida Geddings, Trudy McLeod, and Ruth Rogers all of Sumter, South Carolina.
She is survived by her only son Casey Keech and stepson Kelly Keech and his wife Linda Keech; grandchild Casey Scott Keech and his wife Andrea Keech and two great-grandchildren Tyler Keech and Conner Keech; grandchild Logan Keech and Taelor Monroe and great-grandchild Maya Monroe; one sister Mildred Lumpkins of Estel Springs, Tennessee. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends, and remembered for her amazing spirit that touched the lives of everyone around her.
A visitation for Docia will be held Wednesday, October 27, 2021 from 9 am to 10 am followed by a graveside service at 10 am at Forest Park East Funeral Home and Cemetery. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared below for the Keech family.
“God is waiting to tell you ‘well-done thou good and faithful servant.’”
