I am Brain Klos ll and I am sad that my grandpa passed away but I am happy because he is in a better place now I wish i could say my final words at the funeral but I was to sad but I will say it now. I knew Don as my grandpa and I would call him papa and we would have fun doing outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, football, soccer and much more be we mostly loved fish. But I wished he could have seen my first ever football game but sadly he couldn't attend but at the end of his life I hope he could see me now but I hope for him the best from Brian Klos ll

Don and Teresa moved into their New Braunfels area home during a similar timeframe as Carole and me.  We were a couple of doors away from the Klos’s and they became some of the first people we met in our new neighborhood.  We enjoyed getting together with Don and Teresa and were sad when they moved away a few years later.  I always enjoyed Don’s wit, dry humor, and friendship.  Rest in peace Don.  All the best to Teresa and her family.

Mr. Don was a man that always was nice to me. He could at times be difficult  but I understood him. When he was not at breakfast table.   I wheeled home down to eat. I grew close to the family and I am gonna miss Don an all of the family.   Rest in peace Don.   Gonna miss you Sir.     Fly high!!

Don was a close neighbor and one of the first we met when we moved to our new neighborhood.  He and Teresa were great friends, helpful and generous.  He will be missed.  God bless and comfort Teresa and their boys and families.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Don’s passing. Over the years, we shared a lot of great times—fishing, hunting, drinking, cruising, cooking, and competing in cook-offs. I’ll always cherish the memories, the laughs, and even the trouble we got into (and the forgiveness our wives somehow kept giving us). Those were the good old days, and they’ll stay with me for the rest of my life.

Like the time we came home from vacation to find Don already in our pool, yelling, “Jimmy, you’re about out of beer!” Or the hunting trip where I was sitting at the picnic table, lining up a headshot on a turkey in a tree—Don came rolling up behind me and blasted it right out from under me. That turkey is still mounted on my wall today—a reminder of Don every time I look at it.

Then there was Jamaica, when we stepped into a bar for what we thought was a quick beer… only to find out the tour bus had waited over an hour for us. And Mexico—telling our wives we’d just head into the first bar we saw, not realizing it was a house of ill repute. At least the beer was cold.

Don had a way of making an impression on everyone he met. I’m sorry I can’t be there to send him off on his journey to heaven. He’ll be missed by many, and remembered by all who were lucky enough to know him.

Our hearts sank when Skip Whitrock called with the sad news of Don's passing.  Don was a trusted friend and FAA colleague for over 30 years and often provided sage advice and common-sense thinking to complex problems.  Bernie Mullins' post best stated Don's work life and passion for family.  Jill's and my earnest prayers are with Teresa, Bryan, Mike, and the whole family at this time of profound grief but rejoice over what Don's friendship brought into our lives.
