Dorothy Mabasa Bagat

Dorothy Mabasa Bagat, age 78, of Webster, Texas passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022. Dorothy was born June 3, 1943. She was married to her best friend and beloved husband, Eddie Bagat, for 53 years. Dorothy was born in Houston, Texas to Joseph C. Mabasa, Sr. and Rosa Morales, but raised in Houston by Policarpio M. Gomez, affectionately known as “Popo”. She is the 3rd eldest of 10 children. She always said she loved all her brothers and sisters. She was considered the matriarch of the family and helped to take care of her younger siblings. She graduated from Milby High School and was an American Legion Award winner. She worked for the US Postal Service at various postal branches for 30 years, retiring from Albert Thomas Post Office in Clear Lake.

Dorothy was always complimented on her big, beautiful smile and happy personality. Her laugh could be heard from the other room. She was a hard-worker and put her all into everything she did. She was an avid reader who loved to read books. Her most favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family, especially with her 5 grandchildren, whom she adored with all her heart. She is a child of God and a woman full of faith in the Lord. She instilled her faith in her daughters and grandchildren. She would always say, “Pray and God ALWAYS hears your prayers.”

She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph C. Mabasa, Sr, Rosa Morales, and Policarpio “Popo” M. Gomez, eldest sister, Susie De La Cerda, and younger brother, Arthur Mabasa.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Edilberto G. Bagat, her daughter, Sharon Nguyen and husband Michael, her daughter, Karen Vuong and husband Kevin, grandchildren Kaitlyn “Cutie”, Nathan “Popoy”, Kaden “Boy”, Kayla “Pinay”, and Kylie “Kookie”, brother Joseph,II and Judy, brother Jesse and Shirley, Sister, Cindy Duron and John, brother, Johnny and Lynna, brother Anthony and Veronica, and brother Paul Phillip and Dina and numerous nephews and nieces.

Pallbearers: Michael Nguyen, Kevin Vuong, Nathan Nguyen, Paul Phillip Mabasa, John Duron, and Joey Mabasa, III.

A visitation for Dorothy will be held Monday, March 7, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598. A rosary service will occur Monday, March 7, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, March 8, 2022 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Mary Queen Catholic Church, 606 Cedarwood Dr, Friendswood, TX 77546. A committal service will occur Tuesday, March 8, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598.
