Dorothy Shannon, 86, of Houston, Texas passed away October 18, 2019. She was born in Decaturville, Tennessee on February 7, 1933 to John L. Brasher and Eudie F. Brasher. She worked in sales for Sears for 9 years and Dillards for 16 years and was a member of Elves and More, building bicycles. She had a passion for fishing, travel, RV camping and butterflies.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Eudie Brasher; brother Jay Brasher, and sister Jenny Lipman.
She is survived by her devoted companion of 25 years George Phillips, Jr.; sister Bettie Barker; son Steve Shannon and daughter Joy McGee, husband Randy, and their father William T. Shannon; granddaughter Vanessa Warzecha and grandson Ryan McGee.
A visitation will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home in Webster, Texas from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2019. A private family interment will be on Friday, October 25, 2019 at Forest Park East Cemetery.
