

Earl was born in Village Mills, Texas, September 2, 1935 to Gabe and Susie Collins.
Earl worked in the oilfield industry most of his life and was the owner of Metro Oilfield Rental. Later, in retirement he was a realtor in the Deer Park and Clear Lake area. He also served in the U.S. Navy Reserve.
Earl was a devoted husband, family man and friend. "Papa" will always be remembered for his love for his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and was a mentor to Guy Van Lesson for 15 years.
Earl's favorite past time was watching Texas Longhorn and Dallas Cowboy football and he was an avid reader of political and history books.
Preceded in death by his parents Gabe and Susie Collins; son, Dalton Collins; daughter-in-law, Leah Collins; and sister, Doris Haddox. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jackie; daughters, Beverly Lewis and husband Gary of Deer Park, Texas; Brenda Collins of Deer Park, Texas; Susie Land and husband Mike of Angleton, Texas and Frances Lewis and husband Randy of La Porte, Texas. Grandchildren Jennifer Stafford, Jason Lewis, Jeff Collins, Lori Burge, Ashlee Palmer, David Bentley, Curtis Land, Chris Land, Frank Land, Mikey Land, Krista Sehnert, Holly Arnold and 22 great grandchildren. He is also survived by sister Lou Dell Freeman of Livingston, Texas, Margie Harmon and husband Don of San Marcos, Texas and many nieces and nephews that will miss him greatly.
Visitation will Monday, June 7, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home and Cemetery, Webster, Texas. Services will be on Tuesday, June 8 at 2 p.m. in the chapel at Forest Park East Funeral Home with Rev. Darren Dunn and Chad Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Forest Park East Cemetery.
