

Edna Fae Cole was born on May 31, 1927 as Edna Fae Millarr along with her twin sister Lessie in Vinita, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents Orville Wayland and Jewell Edna Millarr; brothers Herbert and Jim Millarr; sister Lessie Boardman; son Jack Armstrong, and spouses Thurston Armstrong, Arthur Cole, and special friend Robert Hammons.
After World War II Edna married Thurston Armstrong and moved to California. They moved to the Seattle Washington area for about 16 years to follow the work available. She and Thurston divorced. Edna was remarried to Arthur Cole in 1968 moved to Texas where she spent the remainder of her life.
She is survived by her brother Phillip Millarr, daughters Cheryl Eckenrode (Lewis Eckenrode) and Barbara Sarafin; grandchildren Traci Bailey (Brian Bailey), Carrie Alverson (Jerald Alverson), Christopher Payne, Heath Eckenrode, Tami Tyler, Jarrod Sarafin, and Dawn Small (Drew Small); and a host of great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren.
Edna attended the Chicago Beauty School in, Tulas Oklahoma after leaving school for religious reasons. She also attended business school Houston Texas to be a switchboard operator, and worked at the Downtowner Motor Inn. In addition, with a passion for baking. She worked in the bakery department, working her way up to Manager at Woolworth Department Store. After 16 years of service Edna retired in 1989.
Edna was a beloved member of The Redeemer Lutheran Church, where she loved to sing in the choir, served in the Alter Guild, Martha’s Circle, Young at Heart, and participated in many Church and community activities. She loved to travel the USA in her camper, and bake.
She said her biggest treasure in life were her children. We will miss her very much. We really miss all the sweets she used to make. Rest in peace loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great, great grandmother.
