Edward was born December 1, 1962 in Houston, TX to Josefina Deleza Ducommun and George A. Ducommun, Sr. He was known by his friends and family as Eddie or some called him Duke (short for Ducommun). He was raised in Houston and graduated from Milby High School. Eddie has always been a fun-loving person that everyone adored. His closest childhood friends Alex Garcia, Daymond Mayhall, Brad Eddleman and Paul Fillip kept in touch throughout the years. Daymond opened his home and heart to Eddie without hesitation to give support to our family during his battle with cancer.
Eddie was very athletic from playing football to surfing the big waves in Hawaii. He competed in surfing competitions and the Ironman Triathlon. He was not a planner so being spontaneous is one word to describe him. Eddie decided to pack a bag and purchase a plane ticket to fly out to Hawaii as a temporary work transfer for TGI Fridays. He fell in love with Hawaii that he decided to spend more than a decade on the island where he met up with Paul Schell, Carlos Duran and Joey Legler. They all had love for the big waves in common. Their children would call him “Uncle Eddie” and invite him to many family events. Eddie had a bright and energetic personality and was known for his ability to make you laugh. He had a big heart and loved everyone. He had so many more friends throughout his life that they became family “Ohana”.
Eddie was preceded in death by his father, George A. Ducommun, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Josefina Ducommun; his brothers, George A. Ducommun, Jr. and Joe Ducommun; his sister, Charlene Marie Luna; his brother in law, Manuel Luna; his uncles, Antonio A. Deleza and Junior Ducommun. We cannot forget his numerous friends from Texas to Hawaii. Eddie will want to give you all a big “Aloha & Mahalo” for being a part of his life.
Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at Forest Park East Funeral Home and Cemetery. Viewing is scheduled 8:30am-9:30am with services beginning at 9:30-10:30am to share stories & celebrate his life. Burial on-site at 11am.
