

DeLane and Eddie were married in 1967. On July 22, 1971, they welcomed their first son, Gilbert, into the world. In a little less than two years, on May 3, 1973, they welcomed their second son, Jason, into the world. On November 1, 2020, they celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary. They worked hard to create a good life for their family and themselves. Over the course of their lives, they strove to make the lives of their neighbors and friends better. They touched many lives for the better. They will be greatly missed by their many friends and family.
DeLane McCall Gil
Beloved Wife and Mother. Teacher.
DeLane was born in Atlanta, TX on September 20, 1942. She passed away in Houston, TX on January 4, 2021. After graduating from Atlanta HS in Atlanta, TX, she attended and graduated from Texas Woman’s University in 1964 where she received Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. She received Master of Education from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1981. DeLane worked for Sheldon ISD for 34 years. She taught third grade at Sheldon Elementary, Royalwood Elementary, Parkway Elementary, and Monahan Elementary. She retired in 1998.
DeLane is survived by her sons, Gilbert Edward Gil and Jason Dewitt Gil; and her brother, William R. McCall of Atlanta, TX. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Charles E. McCall and Valerie Waters McCall; her brother, Danny McCall; and her sister, Diane Jernigan.
Elias Eduardo Gil
Beloved Husband and Father. Electrical Engineer.
Eddie was born in Laredo, TX on September 12, 1942. He passed away in Baytown, TX on January 26, 2021. After graduating from Martin HS in Laredo, TX, he attended and graduated from Texas A & M University in 1966, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Eddie was inducted into the US Army in October 1966. He served at Aberdeen Proving Grounds as a Human Factors Engineer. In October 1968, he received an Honorable Discharge at the rank of PVT E-1 (Specialist). Eddie worked for Houston Lighting and Power, Reliant Energy, and CenterPoint Energy from 1966 to 2007 in various capacities throughout his career.
Eddie is survived by his sons, Gilbert Edward Gil and Jason Dewitt Gil; his three brothers, Richard Gil, Martin Gil, and Robert Gil; and three sisters, Delia Gil, Matilde Gil, and Elizabeth Gil Houston, TX. He was preceded in death by his wife, DeLane McCall Gil; his father and mother, Elias R. Gil and Maria Luisa Rodriguez Gil; and his sister, Aurora Hilaga.
The family will receive friends for Eddie and DeLane Gil on Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Forest Park East Funeral Home. A funeral service to celebrate their lives together will be held 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Forest Park East Funeral Home. Their committal service will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery. The family is being assisted by Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, Texas 77598.
