She attended nursing school and made lifelong friendships with fellow nursing school students Dorothy Stinson and Kitty Maxwell. She was involved with the Mustang Community club and worked with the Mother’s Day Out program at Saint John the Baptist Catholic church and taught CCE. She worked in the cafeteria at Stevenson Primary School for many years. In the Mustang Community neighborhood, where she has lived for sixty years, she has enjoyed many close friendships and community cookouts and neighborhood parties. She was an excellent cook, particularly known for her banana pudding and gumbo. She was a skilled cake decorator and made all her children beautiful wedding cakes for their ceremonies. She was a very proud rodeo mom and spent countless hours and miles hauling her daughter and her best friend all over Texas to compete. She enjoyed having her family around her but loved visiting them as well. She loved the beach, cruising, making pottery, traveling, and watching theater plays.
Elizabeth was always kind and welcoming. She opened her home and kitchen to everyone, including all her children’s friends. She really enjoyed their company and cooking for all of them. However, her favorite pastime was making memories with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
