Elvia Irene Monceaux, 70, of Deer Park, Texas passed at her home on November 23, 2011 from a long battle with Cancer. She was brought in this world on June 11, 1941 in Amite La. by two wonderful people George and Alice Hammond. She joined the growing family of what would later be eight siblings, Jesse, Henry, Betty, Sue, Bernice, Pete, Manny, and Sonny. Later in life she met Clifton J. Monceaux of Jennings, La. Cliff was the love of her life till the day she passed. She married and had one child, Clifton J Monceaux II. They resided at the family residence in Deer Park, Texas. Elvia was a homemaker and a very dedicated and loving wife and wonderful mother. Her beauty, grace, and need for perfection was like no other. She was elegant to those who knew her…never shying from her values or opinions… In 1988 Cliff was diagnosed with cancer and later passed on December 22, 1992. With Johnny and Logan in hand she continued the Monceaux legacy. The following year she met her dear friend, Neil Jackson, and continued to live in her Deer Park home. She was blessed with two beautiful grandchildren, Logan Elizabeth Monceaux and John Emery Gage Monceaux, and then again by marriage of Clifton J. Monceaux and Sara Elizabeth Andrews, she was blessed with three more, David Royce, Cody Frank, and Hailey Renee Andrews. Sadly on November 5, 2011, she lost her granddaughter, Logan, due to an unexpected aneurism. What seemed like the darkest hours in our family history, her illness and the loss of Logan, she pulled us through with strength and dignity. She is survived by many and loved by all.

Mom,
The day you died I kissed your face four times
After you died I held you close to me
I knew it would be the last time I held you for the rest of my life
You were so sick, in so much pain
That is no life
I know you were afraid to die
I hope you have found comfort and have found the hands of our loved ones
Do you remember how I held your hand and laid my head on your shoulder
Even at that moment I couldn't imagine life without you
People talk about broken hearts in songs and movies
Until that moment I had never known a true broken heart
Over and over I thought "How can I live without you?"
I watched you live, I watch you die
Everyday I look up at the sky
I know you're waiting for me
I miss you
