

He was born in Galveston, Texas on July 1, 1946, to Marvin Eugene Blackburn and Della Mae (Rogers) Blackburn. He was married to Jo Ann (Robinson) Blackburn for 60 years.
Fred worked for numerous companies in the oil industry including Austral Oil, Crown Central Petroleum, Rosemore Inc. and its subsidiaries. He held supervisory roles throughout his career. He retired as manager of Gateway Gathering and Marketing.
Fred had a passion for die cast military aircraft, vintage cameras, nostalgic memorabilia, John Wayne movies, and the tales of Sherlock Holmes. He was a proud Texan and patriotic American.
He was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Dell Mae Blackburn.
He is survived by his wife Jo Ann Blackburn and two children Tracy Fogarty and Douglas "DW" Blackburn, Grandchildren Heather Blackburn, Shelby Dillinger, Brady Fogarty, Ryan Fogarty, Lita Blackburn, Erica Blackburn, Douglas "Rocky" Blackburn Jr., and Raven Blackburn, 9 Great Grandchildren Ethan, Riley, Shane, Caden, Kylie, Kaysen, Brayan, River, and Bonnie, Brother Marvin (Buddy) Blackburn and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
His legendary personality will never be forgotten. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. The words Freddy, Pops, Dad, Papa, and Uncle Freddy bring joy. He was the calm within the storm of life.
A visitation for Frederick will be held Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598. A funeral service will occur Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598. A committal service will occur Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598.
