George Arthur Hubert III

George Arthur Hubert III was born June 29, 1933 in Houston, Texas and left this Earth on January 12, 2015 at his home at the age of 81 years, 6 months, and 14 days. George, or as he was called, Buddy, was second of five children born to George and Helen Hubert. He was raised in the Almeda Genoa Telephone Road area and went to Milby High School. Buddy joined the U.S. Navy like his uncle Virgil serving on The USS Vulcan for 3 years, 1 month, and 27 days. After being discharged from the Navy, he returned to work as a boilmaker, later working side-by-side with his father in the valve repair business. Soon, Major Enterprise was born and so the story goes; lots of lifelong friends were made. He worked up until his passing.

He leaves behind his brother William Hugo Hubert and wife Mary; daughter Susan Robison and husband David; daughter Martha Steele and husband Jim; grandchildren Mark Verrett and wife Donna, David Robison and wife Amy, Jaimie Robison and Kimberly Robison; 4 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren. As well as Bubba Boren his good friend he loved like a son, and his 2 dogs Rock and 37.

He was a member of the Faternal Masonic Order, Lodge #1295 and was raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason on December 18, 1970.

Pallbearers include Mark Verrett, David Robison III, Ricky Miller, Lloyd Stevens, Albert Jaroe, Major Bill Wood. Honorary pallbearers are Larry “Bubba” Boren, Jr., Freddie Carroll, and Noe Hernandez.

Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2015 and the Celebration of Life is on Friday, January 16, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home.
