George Francis Sculley, Jr. (Age 79) died at home on Friday, November 16, 2018. Born March 7, 1939 in Brooklyn, NY he was the son of Irene Desautel and George Francis Sculley, Sr. George graduated from Georgia Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and obtained a masters in Engineering Management from the University of Utah. He served as Second Lieutenant in the Air Force from 1963 to 1965 and as 1st Lieutenant from 1965 to 1966.
George was a reliability engineer for missile defense systems during the height of the Cold War before transitioning to his dream career, Space! George worked on the Space Shuttle and International Space Station programs for McDonnell Douglas (later Boeing) before retiring in 2007.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years Sherrie Diane Sculley and his sister Sondra O'Shea. George will be missed by his four children, Theresa Anne Conyer, of Pearland, TX, John Kevin Sculley of San Antonio, TX, Jennifer Leigh Via of Huntington Beach, CA and Rachel Kathleen Jones of El Lago, TX. George is also survived by twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. George's greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. He loved to travel and enjoyed cruising.
