Gerald Edwin Cole Sr.

Gerald “Gerry” Edwin Cole Sr., 77, passed away September 27, 2010. Born on July 8, 1933 to Edwin and Alice Cole in Branford, CT. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Edwin Cole Jr. and his beloved wife Nancy Cole.

He is survived by his sister, Alice Fortunato of Stamford, CT; his six children: Gerald “Gerry” E. Cole Jr., and his wife Lori, Kathleen “Kathy” Cole, John P. Cole and his wife Chalayne, William “Bill” D. Cole and his wife Kim, Alice Wright and Christopher B. Cole and his wife Sophia. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

A long time resident of Sagemont, Gerry was very active in youth sports for over two decades as a coach and league official. He was a founding member of the Sagemont Cowboys and coached many local athletes in basketball and baseball. He touched many young people’s life through his involvement in local sports.

Friends are asked to celebrate his life with a viewing Thursday, September 30, 2010 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, TX, 77598. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 1, 2010 at St. Luke’s Evangelist Catholic Church, 11011 Hall Road, Houston, TX, 77089, followed with a committal service at Forest Park East Cemetery.
