Geraldine T. Smith, a kind-hearted and thoughtful soul, passed away on July 4, 2025, at the age of 88. She was a resident of Dickinson, Texas for many years. Geraldine was born on December 4, 1936, and her life was marked by her deep love and dedication to her family and community.
In her early years, Geraldine found joy in part-time work as a pastime, something to occupy her time while her children were in school and her husband was away in Vietnam. She was married to Bobby Smith for 51 years until his passing in 2005, and together they built a loving family and raised five children. Geraldine’s love for her children was profound; she truly lived for them.
Geraldine had a passion for collecting angels and loved to paint. She was skilled in crafts, including ceramics, a little woodworking, and jewelry making. Additionally, she enjoyed the challenge of crossword puzzles.
Her faith was an integral part of her life. Although she grew up Protestant, she continued her devotion to the Lord at Pine Drive Baptist Church in Dickinson.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Rosie Travelstead, her beloved husband Bobby, and seven siblings.
She is survived by her children Danny Smith and wife Teressa, Gary Smith and wife Wanda, Sandy Henry and husband Mark, Sherrill Smith, and Bobby Smith. Her legacy continues through her 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She also leaves behind six siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home in Webster, Texas, on Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 9:30 to 10:30 am, with a service to start at 10:30 am and a committal to follow.
