On April 13, 2023, Jack Dillard transitioned to his heavenly home with his loved ones by his side after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease. He fought the strong fight against this debilitating disease.
Jack was the second born son of four sons to Clyde and Bertha (Retzloff ) Dillard on November 24, 1948 in Flint, Michigan. He graduated from Flint Southwestern High School. He married the love of his life, Elaine Epperson April 6, 1968. Jack served for 6 years in the Navy. He spent most of his time on ship on the USS Roosevelt. Following his time in the service, he worked for 27 years for the City of Flint Water Department.
Jack and Elaine had 3 children and their lives were focused on Brian, Kevin, and Kerri. Between hockey, soccer, basketball, cheerleading, and various other school activities, Jack spent his free time providing the best possible lives for his children. They spent every summer weekend at their cabin “up north”. The cabin was always open to all friends and family who wanted a place to fish, boat, swim, and just have fun. They eventually sold that cabin and bought a house on Lobdell Lake so that the summer fun could be had all summer long. Jack was happiest when his kids and their friends were out playing on the water.
A few years ago, Jack and Elaine made the decision to move to Friendswood, Texas to be closer to Kerri and her children. Jack was not just a devoted father but he was also completely dedicated to his grandchildren. He hated that they were missing out on their sports and school activities so they moved to be closer to them.
Jack was preceded in death by his mother and father, his mother and father-in-law, his older brother James Dillard, and a nephew Ryan Dillard.
His loving family that he leaves behind are his wife Elaine of Friendswood, Texas; his children Brian and Kristen Dillard of Grand Blanc, Michigan; Kevin and Heather Dillard of Palmetto, Florida; Kerri Dillard of Friendswood, Texas; his grandchildren Dylan Stone, Elaina Lerma, and Antonio Jack Lerma; as well as his brothers Donald (Roberta) and Robert (Beverly) Dillard; and many nieces and nephews.
