

He proudly served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. After graduating from The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, he moved to Findlay, Ohio, where he began his career in Information Technology field and enjoyed participating in sports car rallies, golf and bowling. After moving to Houston in 1969, he continued in this field, and became active in Boy Scouts and Little League Baseball.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, JoAnn Hand Jarrell; children, Jacki Jarrell Taylor and husband Jim, John C Jarrell and wife Paulette; grandchildren, Jennifer Taylor, Matthew Jarrell and wife Julia, Kristen Jarrell, Melissa Jarrell; great-grandchildren, Taylor Cabiness, Emerson Jarrell; sisters, Sallie Jarrell Wade and husband C.N., JoAnne Jarrell Allen and husband Richard; brother, Curtis Jarrell and wife Josephine; sister-in-law, Lucille Hand, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on August 18, 2017 at Holy Trinity United Methodist Church, 13207 Orleans Street, Houston, Texas 77015.
