JAMES WALTER MASSEY, a World War II and Korean War Marine veteran, successful businessman and loving husband, father and grandfather, died Saturday. He was 82.Born on February 12, 1928, in Fort Worth to Chess and Juanita Massey, James found true happiness in life after meeting Wanda Ford on a blind date at an outdoor barbecue. They were married in 1956 and shared more than half a century together.James retired after two decades with The Sherwin-Williams Co. During his retirement he traveled around the country in the comfort of an RV with his wife, dog and friends. It was time well spent.James was preceded in death by Wanda in 2008 and daughter Teresa in 2006. James often said he was ready any time to rejoin Wanda in heaven. He is survived by children Larry, Danny and his wife Joy, and Timothy. Also surviving are grandchildren Holly, Amber, Amanda, Ashlie, Amy and Brittany; as well as 10 great-grandchildren.Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 11, at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy. in Webster. Services will be held there at 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
