John had a career in law enforcement for Harris County Constable Precinct 5. He was a member of the NRA and a Vietnam Veteran. He had a passion for his family, pets, football, and target shooting.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents and Harold and Kiki Weingartner.
John is survived by Carolyn Schlein; his daughter Leslie and husband Kevin McBroom; precious grandchildren Jacqueline and John; brother Larry and wife Donna Schlein; and friends.
The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to the American Lung Association.
