

John Everett Smith, 91 of Palestine, Texas passed away August 24, 2015. He was born in Meridian, Mississippi on April 6, 1924 to John A. Smith and Ada Mazingo. He was married to Faye F. Smith for 59 years. Johnny had a career with Missouri Pacific Railroad for 36 years. He was a member of a Masonic Lodge in Houston and a member of Second Baptist of Channelview, Texas. Johnny had a passion for baseball, old western movies, vintage cars, woodworking and fishing. He also loved to take care of his flowers and to eat anything that was dipped in chocolate! He was preceded in death by his Daughter Deborah Faye, his loving Wife, and 11 siblings. He is survived by Daughter Lydia Davis and Husband Byron and Son Aaron Smith; Grandchildren Byron Davis, Jr. and Wife Christy, Tabitha Hubert and Husband Lynn; Great-grandchildren Kelsey Molandes and Husband Tate, Kaylee and Wesley Hubert, and Ashley and Brooke Davis. And expecting one Great-great-grandson on the way, Tye Molandes. Johnny is also survived by his Bothers Tommy Lee, Murray Allen, Finney, and James Ruben Smith and Sister Bessie Calhoun. The family will receive guests on Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home in Webster, Texas. A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:30 p.m.on Friday, August 28, 2015 in the chapel of Forest Park East Funeral Home at 21620 Gulf Freeway in Webster, Texas 77598.
