

He was born in Houston on August 24th, 1948, to Henry Sr. And Lillian (Galan) Lemaster. He was married to his soulmate, Kathy Bea Lemaster, for 32 years.
Johnny served in the United States Army as a helicopter mechanic during the Vietnam War. During this time, he worked on a 67U 20, 67U 30, and CH47. He even owned a pet monkey in Vietnam and earned the rank of an SP5.
In 1972, when he returned home from service, he continued his career as an aircraft mechanic. He worked for PNNL, Houston Aviation Technical Services, Southwest Airlines, and Nasa. While at Nasa he worked on Nasa 2, KC135, T38, and saw numerous launches. Also at Nasa, he was awarded the National Merit Award and the Manned Flight Awareness Award. He also spent time working for Houston Helicopters where he worked on 206 Jet Ranger, 212 and 214 Bell Helicopters. During this time, he also helped in California, as a helicopter mechanic to those fighting fires.
While Johnny was working, he furthered his education at Spartan School of Aeronautics. He earned his A&P License and an FCC License. However, he did not stop there, he also continued at San Jacinto College and earned his Associates of Applied Science in the field of Electronics Technology.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, IAM Union, and Boy scouts of America. He was always involved with boy scouts with his kids and his church as a scout assistant leader. During this time, he was awarded the Cross and Flame Award and the Order of the Arrow Award. He enjoyed watching the Hallmark Channel, John Wayne westerns, Polar Express, NCIS, and Bing Crosby Movies. He loved traveling, cooking, and tinkering in his workshop. Every year around Christmas time he would put on a big red suit and play Santa for numerous children. He enjoyed warming the hearts of others during the holiday time.
Johnny was very involved in his church, CrossRoads UMC, and served as a trustee on the board for many years. He volunteered for anything and everything. He could even be found on Sunday mornings making coffee in the church kitchen.
Johnny was survived by his sons, Manuel Lemaster and wife Daria, John Lemaster and wife Casie, and Jeffrey Lemaster; daughter Jennifer Macias; brothers, Robert Covalt and wife Rosemary, Henry Lemaster Jr., and Michael Lemaster; sisters, Henrietta Blake, Lillie Cook, and Shirley Nunez; and blessed to have numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., March 10th, 2023, at CrossRoads UMC, 10030 Scarsdale Blvd, Houston, Tx, 77089.
Johnny did everything with a happy heart and never expected anything in return. Johnny’s memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones and continue for generations to come.
