Joyce "Jodi" St. Cyr

On the morning of April 14, 2015, Jodi passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Clear Lake Regional Hospital, as a result of complications that arose from her long-time battle with COPD. She was 79 years old. Jodi was born in New Waverly, Texas on October 13, 1935, the first of three children to Hugh and Annie Lee Neiderhofer. Jodi grew up with a passion for the arts, specifically the theater, and spent many years of her life on the stage acting. Jodi’s husband, Mark V. St. Cyr, said her lead actress role in “The Oldest Living Graduate” is one that always sticks out in his mind because she always brought the house down. The play was performed in 1978 at College of the Mainland in Texas City, and Jodi played the lead role of Maureen Kincaid. Other plays she acted in throughout her life included “Hot L Baltimore” and “Street Car Named Desire,” among many others. Later in life, Jodi also served as an executive secretary for SIP Engineering in Houston. Following her career, Jodi enjoyed traveling, volunteering and spending time with her family. She loved nothing more than to spend time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; and when she was not with them, she was always speaking of them to others. They were all her pride and joy. She also loved her furry companion, her Chihuahua, Cocoa, who rarely left her side. Jodi is survived by her husband of 55 years, Mark V. St. Cyr; her sister, Jackie (Larry) Beach; her son, Robert “Mike” St. Cyr; her daughter, Melissa (Paul) Kenney; and her six grandchildren, Nekol St. Cyr; Kristofer (Sara) St. Cyr; She’lah (Ray) Rhodes; Kayla (Morris) Norman; Kristina (Sean) Lockridge; and Michaela St. Cyr. She’s also survived by 11 great-grandchildren. Jodi was preceded in death by her father, Hugh Wilson Neiderhofer; mother, Annie Lee Neiderhofer; and brother, Jimmy Neiderhofer. A memorial service will be held for Jodi at Forest Park East Funeral Home in Webster, Texas on April 25, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. The service will be followed by a reception at the funeral home.
